Cadbury Highlights bar
« on: September 15, 2006, 02:59:13 pm »
Bought one from Woolies today. It tastes boring, as you would expect, but has about 10 grams of fat per small bar. Isn't that more than a regular Dairy Milk? I won't be buying again.

I would rather have the real thing and a bit more fat.

The real thing probably has less fat weight for weight. If they've taken out the sugar they have to add something else. I think there's another thread on this. If i want a low kcal choc bar it would be a curly wurly or chomp

I think for a low cal bar it's not bad. Yes it's fairly boring but at least it doesn't have a really bad after taste like most bars with lower sugar content are (sweetener is maltitol, I'm not really familiar with anything outside aspartame ). 460cals per 100g isn't the best but it is lower than a kit kat or a dairy milk.

it really gets on my nerves about so called lo cal lo fat bars. All they do is make the bar smaller, hence less calories or fat content.

Yes but think about it - bars made to be low fat are never nice (witness the hideous Flyte). At least these small bars are the real thing, and you can only eat what's there. If you buy a standard bar and promise yourself you won't eat it all, there's always the temptation to scoff the lot.
