Heinz and Premier Foods lock horns in sloga...

LONDON
- Heinz has hit back at Premier Foods, the company behind Branston
baked beans, at any plans that it may have to use a 'Beans Means
Branston' slogan to clash with the classic Heinz's 'Beanz Meanz Heinz'
advertising slogan.
Heinz has written to
Premier Foods saying that any attempt to use the proposed slogan would
infringe Heinz's registered trademark "Beanz Meanz Heinz". Heinz
brought back its iconic catchphrase for a TV advertising campaign
earlier this month after an absence of more than a decade. Created by
Leo Burnett, slogan was initially dropped to better reflect Heinz's
range of products rather than just baked beans. However, it has been
reinstated after market research that found the majority of customers
wanted the slogan revived. Premier Foods, which launched its beans
range in November last year, has now threatened to use the similar
"Beans Means Branston" slogan.
