What a coincidence, I had a casserole tonight, lamb, onions, celery and carrots. I don't like dumplings they're stodgy.

I do my stew in the oven with dumplings in the oven too

If they are in the stew on the hob I call them dumplings. If they are in a casserole in the oven I call them puddings.

In Scotland we have mince with the dumplings . I have never had a stodgy dumpling at home Bounty they are always fluffy and succulent I`m not too bad at them myself but i can tell by just looking at them if they are stodgy

Beef casserole is my fav casserole
