Do you have many? Do you prefer a hand-held bag or shoulder strap? Do you have one for each pair of shoes or do you try to fond one that goes with several outfits? Do you bother at all?

I have a little cloth bag with a lovely tapestry design that i got from Per Una (M&S) and I use it for most outings except for very formal dinners and events wearing very dressing evening wear is called for.

I would never pay more than £30 for a handbag.

BK how disappointing... I was sure you were a liberated guy with a 'manbag' .

As for me I am one of theose people who seems to always be putting things int my handbag.. but rarely taking things out. Consequently my handbag weighs a ton! Well to be honest it did weigh 3kg recently. My son had some project for homework that invovled weighing recycling and his friend used the weighing meter (not sure that is the right name!) to weigh my bag. I was a little embarassed at 3kg

Contents include tissues, wet hand wipes, small umbrella, paracetamol, gaviscon, a purse full of lots of crud, but little cash! And about 20 lipsticks in a cosmetic bag... which is bizare as I tend to stick to the same 2 or 3, but I feel lost without them all incase of emergencies. Blimey wonder what a pyscologist would make of that one

What, no phone, address book, pen, Polos,  perfume, spare tights, feminine spares or chocolate??

Incidently, why do we carry around loads of make-up we never wear 'just in case?'  I hardly ever wear any but always carry two mascaras, three or four lipsticks, two shades of foundation (one for summer, one for rest of year) and a powder compact. What am I like???

Until recently I never carried a handbag but I have got girlier of late and now own several.  On inspection my bag contains my mobile, purse (pink!), small cosmetic bag with 2 lipsticks, 2 lip glosses, mascara and face powder, painkillers, diary, pen and chewing gum. goldencup38962.754837963

I have a faux-leather bag with a strap - I couldn't go as far as a 'manbag' that you have to carry. Handbags are often my saviour at Christmas though, because I know it's one present my sister or my mother is guaranteed to be delighted with. Why they need so many is beyond me.

At last count I had 37 handbags, none of them old. I buy at least 2 a month. Every so often I clean out my bag cupboard and throw some away for an excuse to buy more. I have a bag in every colour imaginable. Expensive ones are kept wrapped in tissue in shoeboxes. This week I bought yellow shoes and a yellow bag and last week it was a green set and a black set . My shoes and bags are all colour co ordinated .

Stick all the old ones on eBay, you could be rich.

If they are not expensive I usually put them in the charity bag. Anything that was expenmsive I keep as they are usually special occasion bags.
