Ikea

We went to Ikea in Milton Keynes to get some things for our home and I could not believe the bargains we picked up. My daughter is off to university and needs lots of household stuff. We got some lovely white bowls, plates and mugs for just 19 pence each! They were a very nice design and as well as getting some for her I stocked up on 'spares' for my own kitchen.

We got a lovely chest of drawers for our son's bedroom and they had some fantastic fabrics. best of all I got a huge bag of mini Dime bars - delicious!

We had lunch there too and the food was fantastic quality and very cheap.

As for the loos - I've never seen cleaner toilets - not even in the Dorchester Hotel.

Good day out all in all.

Old but spicey!

That sounds like my idea of a good day out!  I haven't been to Ikea in ages as we haven't got one for miles around but there are rumours that we are getting one soon....

Which Uni is she going to Oldspice?

I have only been to Ikea once - when I was 12 - and it was hell on earth. I swore I'd never sit foot in there again! But of course now I'm really into house furnishing and the like so I'd love a day out there; but when you can't drive, you can't get there.

Ruth is going to Northampton to study Paramedic Sciences. It is one of only a handful of universities that run the course. There were hundreds of applicants for only 30 places so she did very well to get a place. The biggest hurdle was her age. She is still 17 (18 next week) and you cannot work as a Paramedic until you are 21. She will be 21 by the time she qualifies but most applicants on the course are older.

She also had to pass her driving test and apply for a catergory C provisional licence so she can start learning how to drive an ambulance.
