I am a camping virgin and will be losing my cherry next week at a campsite in Somerset. I have this week to get myself sorted and wondered if anyone with a bit more experience has any hint or tips on what to take what not to take, I have been to the camping shop in Norwich and i could have spent a fortune.

So far I have a tent, a gas stove, a picnic hamper without metal cutlery as it got confiscated at a Pet Shop Boys concert I went to on friday.

What else do I really need?

We tried but the people who had taken them had disappeared and they were only a couple of quid, unlikely to do a great deal of damage!

I will add them to my list, i had got the tin opener and the matches but not insect repellent, what is better, cream or spray? Or should i get those candles that ward off nasties?
