It's the law of supply and demand.  It's very hot - lots of people want ice cream and the vendors cash in.  The same reason that umbrellas go up in the rain!

That's Bounty's line.

I never buy from ice cream vans. They are mostly filthy.

And lots get melted then refrozen.  I avoid them too, but then I have a proper ice cream kiosk about 500 metres from the house!

I had a 99 yesterday, only £1.20, very nice.  I had an ice cream van at my wedding, that's how classy I am.

I had a Flake Supreme McFlurry yesterday or whatever it's called and it was a disgrace. The ice cream was a solid lump and only filled half of the cup, there was a spponful of watery, tasteless chocolate sauce and a tiny, tiny finger of Flake crumbled up on the top.

Ice cream van who comes down my road charges £1 for a 99, sauce and topping (like nuts) are free

If it's for a little kiddie it's only 80p!

He is an old codger so probably hasn't realised prices have gone up everywhere else.

Only thing is he usually comes between 8pm - 9pm when little un is in bed and if he's not asleep he gets up and mithers for ice cream.

He does two tone Mr whippy... strawberry & vanilla or chocolate & vanilla Yummy

A Man goes to an ice cream van and in very faint, hoarse voice asks for an ice cream.

'Crushed nuts?' asks the vendor

'No laryngitis'.
