Anyone out there?
« on: December 21, 2004, 12:12:20 pm »

I have just finished work and decided to take a rare break. I am sitting at my desk eating smarties and chocolate biscuits. There are only Toffee Pennies left in the office Quality Street tin. There are no students around and very few staff. So, I log onto the Forum and everyone is obviously busy!

I miss the days of the old forum where you just looked at the list of topics and clicked in and out of them. It takes longer on the new forum and that is why people don't bother when they're busy - it takes too long. However, the pictures and images make a big difference and the mini chat is good.

I miss the old crowd though. We don't hear from Scampycat, Dr Mopp or Klopek. We don't hear much from lemoneye. Eidelwiess suddenly disappeared and other names have come and gone.

Old but spicey!

Yes, I agree Spicegirl.  There was something spontaneous about the old forum that has disappeared.  You don't get the rapport, which we got before.  You're right about the images though.  It's allowed me to tie up Chocolate Chick in my garage, so it can't be a bad thing can it?

Darth Vader - 'Luke, i know what you are getting for Christmas!'

Luke Skywalker - 'How can that be oh Dark One?'

Darth Vader - 'I have felt your presents'

Five things people say, which are patently untrue:

1. A watched kettle never boils.  (I watched one just the other day and it boiled. QED)

2. It's not the winning but the taking part that counts. (Tell that to Paula Radcliffe)

3. Every cloud has a silver lining.  (Clouds are made of water droplets or ice particles.)

4. Too many cooks spoil the broth.  (Too much salt spoils the broth)

5. The early bird catches the worm.  (Maybe, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese.)

Here's another one - 'it's always in the last place you look'. Of course it bloody is!!! Why the hell would you look in other places after you've found whatever it is you were looking for!?!?!?!

It may seem painfully obvious, but you cannot deny the validity of that one Smurfboy.

"Hey how did it go with Smurfette last night?"

"You wont smurfin' believe it man - as soon as we got in the parking lot she started smurfing me"

"No smurfin' way!"
