Baked Beans
« on: July 07, 2006, 07:28:31 pm »

Are you strictly a Heinz fan - or do you find the cheapo supermarket ones just as good? I bought some Branston beans the other day because they were on special, but found they really lacked flavour. The only other brand I think is okay is HP. Heinz beans just have something special.

Well of course we have had this thread before....

But I will say again that I find Heinz beans inferior to Sainsbury's.  Tesco's and Asda are passable.

I like Branston beans with sausages. They are always 2 for £1 in Tesco.

Morrisons beans are fine for me. Heinz are overrated.

Heinz are OK, but I'd say Sainsbury's and Tesco's own are OK too.

In our student days we used to buy Tesco blue and white stripe then end up adding red wine, cheese and herbs- they tasted fine!
