We have been helping a schoolgirl on a similar matter but we cannot possibly give you the in-depth knowledge that you will require for degree level.

However as a kick-off try these websites:

Meff - derogratory term in the style of twat, geek, knob etc. Particularly popular in Liverpool (see any episode of Brookside). E.g. 'Me go out with Katie Rogers? No way, she's a meff!'

I had guessed it was derogatory.  Why do we need to create so many synonyms for these ideas?

Robbie, how long did it take for you to come up with the post 'You big meff'?  Ten minutes?  11?

Can I bring attention to Lemoneye's quote of Airplane 2

A most quotable film indeed even if most of the jokes are recycled from the first film...

'My god the sun'

'What is it?'

'Its a large firery ball at the centre of our solar system but thats not important right now'

"Can i ask you a question mister?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Its an interogative statement, used to gain knowledge, but thats not important right now"

Gotta love that film!!
