I used to have a neighbour who colour co-ordinated every piece of washing with the pegs she hung it out with. If she couldn't find a good match (which wasn't often as she had a huge collection of multi-coloured pegs) she went for a nice contrast!

That sounds like someone with too much time on their hands! My washing line is green but I only know that because I thought it was white and looked out of the window to check!!
