YOU lose some money. Maybe you give it up as alost cause, but, you witness picking up some money off the street of the same amount.

How do you feel?

I feel happy for the person who has found it.

I would go for C if I could change it to chocolate, as I am almost teetotal.

I once found a woman's purse at a hospital and it had £110 in it.  I had trouble tracing her and eventually got her address from Comet from her loyalty card.  I made arrangements to take it to her, which was about a 5 mile bus ride.  When I got there she gave me a cup of tea and a white envelope, which had a £20 note in.  I felt good that I had done the right thing and had been rewarded for it.

Last week the guy in front of me walked away from the ATM with £40 sticking out and I called him back.  He just said, 'Oh I'm miles away'.  I would have said thankyou if I'd have been him.  Some people have no manners!

No hidden meaning or message.

The glow of satisfaction of doing the right thing was all I was inferring.

Yes, it was quite a surprise that your comments weren't veiled in sarcastic wit.

I would spend it but not necessarily on alcohol.  I've lost and found money loads of times and it all evens out in the end.  Obviously if it was in a purse or pay packet I would hand it in though.

Obviously. But if me and smurfy were with you we'd confiscate it and spend it on alcohol.

If it was in a purse or wallet I would take it to the police station, if it was just a 20 pound note fluttering along the ground, I'd keep it.

I mean, who is going to go to the police station to collect 20 quid anyway?

Exactly - with a wallet you can use the cards for identification. And if anyone thinks the police would actually hold on to the money and hand it over to whoever turns up one morning and says 'I've lost £20, has it been handed in?' is being naive.

Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Not a personal attack on you Smurfy but naive possibly. However this is another sign of the ME society we live in.

I guess I have hopelessly outdated utopian morals.
