A man is dead after being stabbed on a train on Saturday and on Monday a man was critically injured after being stabbed in Nottingham. Both victims it seems were coming to the aid of women who were being attacked in domestic disputes.
Should the law be changed so that 'have a goers' are immune from prosecution? It's going in half cocked as these two poor guys presumably did, which gets you into trouble. You can bet your bottom dollar - if either of these guys had have injured the assailants, THEY would be up before a judge! If you're going to have a go, you've got to take them out. Otherwise it's just too risky. If it was my girlfriend or my Mum being attacked I would go for the kill, otherwise I really don't know what I would do.

Immunity fromk prosecution might save you from the court, but not from a mugger's knife. In any case, such an idea is unworkable -how do you stop the assailant claiming he or she is the 'have a go hero'?
