Bye Bye Tiramisu Kitkat...
« on: May 30, 2006, 08:17:57 pm »
Nestle inform me that Sticky Toffee Aero and Tiramisu Kitkat Editions have ceased production because of low sales and high production costs. I doubt anyone on here shall miss them, but personally these were two of my favourite new Nestle products of the last few years.
It just goes to show that all that really matters is what the masses like, and if you fall outside of this bracket, stuff you.

If anyone is a fan of Caramac Kitkats however, these are still being produced.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but that's what large companies like Nestle are there to do - make money. If bars aren't popular and don't make a profit they get discontinued. Sad but true. Chocolate manufacturers aren't charities.

They haven't exactly given it very long though have they! Maybe the fact that the bars were over 50p each had something to do with poor sales. I remember the day when chocolate averaged 20p per bar!

Nestle have a new British CEO who is ridding them of constant "new" products.

50p may seem slightly steep but if it is a good bar I am willing to pay a little extra.

I agree the Tiramisu hasn't been around very long, and even though I've not bought it myself (don't like coffee) I do think variation is a good thing, and at least it was something a bit different.

I realise that. But they didnt exactly support the tiramisu flavour with advertising like they have for their other products, so they didnt really give it much of a chance.

It does seem very quick to drop it.

I am sorry people will miss these bars but I seriously think Nestle have to settle down and concentrate on quality rather than endless diversification.
Old but spicey!

Isn't one of the regular moans on this site that we don't get enough variation anymore? So I think Nestle deserve credit for at least trying something new, even if they haven't given this particular product very long.

They are settling down on diversification, but are not improving their quality.

BTW, Nestle also say that the caramel Kitkat Editions will cease production in September.
