Is it wrong to ask people not to sit against your cushions? I know strictly speaking that's the point of them, but I got some new ones last week and one of my friends came yesterday and sat squashed right up against it. Now it's wrinkled and isn't perfect and new anymore. He didn't even notice I had new cushions! Should I stab him or do I just accept it had to happen at some point?

I try to be, it doesn't always work. I'm very funny about anything new, I almost don't want people to touch it.

I understand your distress Smurfy. All my cushions are now flat and it seems to happen aftr just a few months. Given that they are quite expensive, I think it's disappointing when they no longer look plump and ripe buy lay there like pancakes.
Old but spicey!

Smurfy be happy your cushion has been used and enjoyed by having your friends around. It's not like they spilled spaghetti bolognaise all over it!

I agree. People do tend to sit against cushions. I know I do. Perhaps I shouldn't?

Cushions, anitmacassars, they're there to be squashed and crumpled.  That's their job.

After much plumping and two days, the said cushion has regained most of its fullness and the crease is now barely visible. And spaghetti sauce will not be coming withing 50 metres of it!

Smurfy it could be worse I do know someone who had her dining room chairs upholstered and still has the plastic covers on them nine years later….

When my aunt bought a brand new car she kept the plastic on the seats for as long as she had it. Thankfully I never sat in it on a hot day, eugh.
