'Love Shine a Light' is a classic! And I'm glad you remember 'Come What May' Oldspice - it's a bit before my time, but a karaoke favourite of a friend and I really like it now!

It's because too many countries want to participate. The UK and three other major financial contributors get a by into the final, as do the top ten countries from the previous year.

I think Tatu should win it every year if they dressed as schoolgirls.  Mind you aren't they Russian?  That's technically in Asia and they might not be allowed to enter.

Nationality doesn't really matter, as long as you represent a European country.

Yes, anyway there is a part of Russia between Lithuania and Poland, which is definitely in Europe.

Russia are entitled to enter as a large section of the country is in Europe, although the majority is in Asia. The one that always confuses me is why Israel can enter!

Russian entry is good. English entry, whilst could be considered terrible, is exactly the kind of thing that wins Eurovision.I like it. Belgium were very unlucky i thought to not qualify.

BH - English entry has schoolgirls in uniform...

Best English entry was from 1989 "Why Do I Always Get It Wrong" came second... should have won...

Surely lyrics like this cannot win.................

What did you learn at school today ?
That's what the teachers used to say
But they don't know
Don't understand, do they ?
Why do they always give advice ?
Saying "Just be nice, always think twice"
When it's been a long since they had a teenage life
