An almost impossible choice I think you'll agree.

Or will you?

At one time I would always choose chips, but if the mash is made with milk and lurpak and isn't lumpy I'll have the mash.

Of course it depends on what you have with it. Casserole and chips wouldn't work whereas casserole with mash is bliss. But on the other hand pie and chips and pie and mash are both fantastic.

Fish fingers go with both.

Then of course you could throw jacket potato into the mix which really confuses things.

I've gone off jacket potato but I like a nice roast potato.

Chips with fish or sausage, egg and beans.  Mash with pie, peas and thick bisto gravy.

Its a tough choice as I like all 3. Jacket potato with a crispy skin leads the way for me, then chips and then mash.

I agree with you choccie chick; it has to be a proper jacket potato not a poor, microwaved excuse for one!

Agreed!  But I also like a good, crispy jacket potato.  And I really prefer rice....

Love chips, can't stand mashed potato, not keen on jacket potato either.

And I'm with goldencup on rice - I love it more than chips.

To the question "Rice, chips or half-and-half", I always answer "Rice".

For me it would have to be chips, mash, roast potatoes, and then jackets. I'm fussy with mash and mash is harder to get perfect tasting than chips are.

Nothing beats a nice roast potato with a sunday dinner though.

Roasties have to be crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside
