Well I dutifully marched about with my placard this morning, as instructed, and have appeared on ITV news for my trouble.

When I arrived at work at 8am the picket line was up and running. I explained that I did not want to cross the picket line, I support the strike, but I have classes to teach. I was ushered across politely and willingly.

It is a very long time since I even SAW a picket line and it made me think. Many Unison members agreed to lower rates of pay years and years ago in exchange for better pension rights. Now they are being robbed. Years ago, people fought for their rights and acquired better living conditions for all. Now, people lounge around on the dole and live off the fat and sweat of all those years hard fighting.

Old but spicey!

The winter of discontent was not as bad as the 18 years of discontent that followed...
