Attractive or vulgar? Discuss.

Well I like to see girls with tattoos at the bottom of their backs. I think that's nice. The girl who used to do my hair had a lovely tattoo of sunflowers around her waist with a little chain tattood at the front.

Tattoos on arms, legs ,ankles, I find vulgar. I have seen a few women with tattoos on their breast and they look like cheap common tarts.

Roses and dolphins are the most common tattoos.

it annoys me when they have their kids names tattooed on themselves. not sure why - it's just tacky.

I don't like to see tattoos on women.  Tattoos are for sailors, soldiers and criminals.  I have never understood why people want to have them.  I once saw an oik with one on his forehead.  He had written CFCN and the letters were backwards.  He had obviously done it himself and presumably intended to do NCFC (Notts County Football club) and had done it in a mirror.  I kid you not.

I'm not a fan of tattoos at all. Don't people realize that the skin loses it's elasticity with age? When I see tattoos on a young woman, or man, I just can't help imagining what it might look like at .... say 70ish?

There are so many temporary tattoos on the market now that I can't understand why anyone would opt for a perminant one.

That said, I guess it is a free world and if people want to use their body as a canvas and are up for the pain it's their call.

I'm with Loulou - I think some of the discreet ones on a nice slim woman look ok and the lower back has to be the best place to have one as the skin isn't so likely to get stretched there.  I've seen some interesting post-pregnancy ones that people have regretted.
