I don't think anyone's opinions are wrong. I am just responding with my own opinions. I personally think smoking in pubs and public buildings should be banned. If I am a bigot or a Marxist for having that opinion then so be it.

Well said Spicy. Opinions aren't necessarily right or wrong, but there will always be someone who disagrees with you, and if you can't cope with that you shouldn't express your opinions in the first place.

How is someone drinking alcohol going to affect the person sitting next to them?

How?

Through drinking and driving? Never done it, wouldn't do it, won't be able to because I can't drive. I know people do it and it's very wrong, but that is punishable by law. Killing people with your smoke isn't - is that fair?

Are you worried I might end up punching someone whilst drunk? Yes, could happen if I didn't drink responsibly. But the majority of people know how to handle their drink. Second-hand smoke can kill no matter how responsible a person you are.

If you read it properly it says the effects alcohol has on some people costs lives of others... meaning that if somone has a bad reaction to alcohol or has a few to many they think they can take on the world which as you read every day costs lives of others because of a stupid bar brawl.

I totally agree but... if i'm out in public say a bus stop i am alway's careful as to not smoke near children and if some one asks me to move politley then yes i would move i appreciate not everyone likes smoking but in the same sense each to there own you choose to drink i choose to smoke...

I myself dont go to pubs very often as i dont particuarly like drinking and the effects it has on people but that is my choice if you dont like smoking dont stand next to a smoker.....

Maybe some pubs should be smoking some should be non smoking then everyone is happy but banning it in public is wrong because as i said for those that dont like it i would either move myself or if there that bothered by it then they move....

If you're that fed up the solution seems simple.
