Snickers Duo
« on: February 08, 2006, 04:17:10 pm »
Remember when Mars and Cadbury made a big thing of dropping their king size bars to help with the fight against obesity? In a completely unrelated move, Mars have now launched Snickers Duo; two small Snickers bars in one packet. Coincidentally, the combined weight and calories of these two bars adds up to that of the now defunct Snickers King Size!

I would not be able to just eat the half bar, I would end up eating them both anyway!

As if someone would save one half for later or give it to someone else. If they were gonna do that they'd just break the old Kingsize version in half and do it!

Exactly - but of course if Mars get asked about their commitment to fighting child obesity, they can piously say 'we dropped the Kingsize range...'

A bonus with 2 smaller bars is that you get 4 'ends' instead of 2 so more chocolate! The chocolatey end of the Mars bar is the best bit for dunking in hot choc...

They have to be seen to be doing something.

But I could quite happily eat 9-12 squares of the CDM Biscuit big bars. Or just buy 2 bars normal bars of choc

I loved the king size KK's in New York. The bar had 8 fingers!! Kit Kat heaven!

I wish I was in New York.

Is it much cheaper to buy one 8 finger King Size than two normal 4 finger KitKats?

I can't remember. When I was in the pharmacy picking out my chocolate the price didn't really bother me

What a funny place to buy chocolate. Is it provided on prescription in USA?

No thats what their food stores are called. In New York I didn't see any supermarkets it was just a pharmacy on about every corner. They sold all the medicines as you would expect but it was like a small supermarket as well. The most popular ones were called Duane Reade Pharmacies.

There were also little delis as well. Which had a self serve salad bar witl all the veg, meat, olives etc on and then general supplies like chocolate and crisps!!

I loved them!
