Was it Zambia or Zimbabwe? i thought it was Zimbabwe

Both apparently!

The colony gained internationally-recognised independence from Britain in 1980 and became the Republic of Zimbabwe. At an earlier period, the name "Rhodesia" was used to refer to a larger region that corresponds to both Zimbabwe (Southern Rhodesia) and Zambia (Northern Rhodesia).

Oh years ago. About ten at least, probably more. Should never have been allowed. It's like McDonalds taking over The Ritz

1991 I think. Why did Nestle keep the brand name Rowntree for their sweets (Fruit Pastilles etc.) and not their chocolate? Mind you, the same can be said for Cadbury's keeping Fry's Turkish Delight and Chocolate Cream but re-branding Crunchie as Cadbury's.

Was Crunchie originally Fry's?

Cadburys took over Frys about 100 years ago. really, it's that long. They did not ruin the taste or texture of Frys products because they repected the loyalty and affection people had for the brand. Nestle is a parasite, buying up brands and bastardising them.

I have not seen any changes to Green & Blacks yet so that may stay the same as well.

Green and Blacks is a very strong brand name in its own right. Cadbury would be mad to mess with it. They operate in different markets too, so it's not like getting rid of the brand would eliminate a direct competitor.

I am more than happy with Cadbury owning it as long as they don't change it.

Mr Dog - Cesar

Now here's a challenge - can anyone name a product that got a better name after a relaunch?

It's like you're playing Jeapordy!.

What kind of name is "Mr. Dog" for anything?
