Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that I can buy a quantity of the German chocolate sweets that I think are called Schoko Linsen.  They are like Smarties, but instead of just the sweet sugar coating on the outside they are mint flavoured - very nice.  The colours, as I remember them, are just white and pink.

Thanks

In Harrods I brought a little box of pink and white mini smartie like
sweets. They were minty. I didn't see what they were called though.
Very nice

They sound fantastic. Why don't we get stuff like that in Tesco?

Hey, I was teaching some kids today and we were discussing which companies have classy images such as company colours and logos. I mentioned Harrods and NONE OF THE STUDENT HAD HEARD OF HARRODS!!!

I didn't know whether to celebrate their ability to be unimpressed by the king of capitalists or mourn their ignorance.

The best they could come up with was McDonalds! They think McDonalds is classy!

After some encouragement they mentioned Waitrose as being 'posh'. Well, they're getting there I suppose

McDonalds, classy? I ask you! If you want real class, there's only one place to go - Wimpy!

That takes me back! Do they still do those funny-shaped hot dogs that actually look like dog turds?

We used to go to Wimpy for an egg burger and a coke float in 1974. The height of sophistication!

Still at least you got a plate and a knife and fork!  A lot of kids don't know how to use cutlery these days.

These lot were aged 16-20. It's true that several of them were not born in this country but half the class are English born/bred and have never even been to London. We only live 90 miles from London and it only takes one hour on the fast train.

I still feel guilty because although my kids have been to all the London museums, they haven't been to the Tower, the London Eye, or many of the other sights.  I have a bit of a London phobia and I think it's unwittingly rubbed off on them.  They have heard of Harrods though!

The London Eye is fantastic goldencup. If you are not afraid of heights
you should consider it as a day out. It's a wonderful experience.
