not necessarily recipes, but still, mixing various choccys is good.

this leads me to two discussions:

1: what is your favourite chocolate 'selection' eg Roses, Celebrations etc.

2: what crazy 'mixtures' have you tried?

1 - mine has to be celebrations, they're not over-filling like many of the others, so you can eat more and still have room for other things

2 - jaffa cakes and anything. however, this christmas, i plan some outrageous new 'snack combinations' which i'll report back on when i've tried them

My ideal box would be the old Black Magic from the 70's, particularly the crescent shaped coffee one and the wrapped Montelimar.

My weirdest combination is Nutella and my girlfriend.  I'll let your various imaginations fill in the details.

Hmmmmm....Thortons Continental. Haven't had them for a while, always good. And the new Rose 'Luxury' editions look utterly scrumptious.

As for combinations, a mini aero wrapped in a slice of milkbread was my very common attempt at a cheap and easy 'pain au chocolat'!

I have to admit my inexperience again and say that I've never, ever tried a Jaffa Cake. Am I missing out?

...just kidding!  It's practically a patriotic requirement in Oz that you restrict yourself to either Tim Tams, or on occasion a 'Viscount' Mint, so no we're not very adventurous in the new biscuit exploration department!

I also HATE marmalede, and Jaffa Cakes look as though they'd taste quite marmaledey (don't ask me how I decided this!).

I had never had or even heard of a jaffa cake before coming to the UK. Just cultural differences, I guess. I find it weird that most people I know here have never had a proper S'more before. However, if I do have the ingredients handy, I will allow them to experience the yummy goodness of S'mores.

You're right, they do taste of marmalade.  I am also a member of the 'Anti Marmalade League' and advise you to avoid Jaffa Cakes at all costs!  By the way I can't imagine how I've avoided Tim Tams every time I've been to Oz - we always go around Easter and get force-fed with Anzac biscuits!

It involves a nicely toasted marshmallow (roasted to your preference over a campfire) and 2 thin squares of milk chocolate sandwiched between the two halves of a graham cracker. Absolutely delicious. It seems simple, but you can't knock it until you try it! Too bad they don't sell proper graham crackers here - Golden Grahams isn't a good representation of what they taste like, so don't worry if you can't stand that cereal.

My boyfriend and I made a UK friendly version last year by substituting in some honey flavoured biscuits for the graham cracker and using some thick blocks of cadbury's dairy milk rather than a thinner variety of chocolate. Thicker and a bit harder to manage, but delicious nonetheless!

Count me in on the 'Anti Marmalade League' goldencup!!

Anzac biscuits! I'd forgotten about those . Whereabouts in Oz do you visit? If you haven't yet tried them, I'd recommend;

- very good!

S'morees; I think, are some sort of chocolate & marshmellow recipe. Apparently it tastes great (dependant on if you like marshmellows of course). Very popular in the States I believe.

Is that right sillyyank03?

Obviously you were right then OSC - sounds interesting and I wonder what Graham crackers are like?  In answer to your question, Queensland, esp. the smaller islands like Lady Elliot, Heron etc.  No, I haven't tried an Arnott's Mint Slice - will look out for them next time!
