Terry's of York who produce the famous Chocolate Orange and Terry's All
Gold, has closed it's gates ending more than 250 years of tradition.


A petition from more than 4,700 chocolate fans failed to prevent the closure.


 


The factory was one of York's largest employers, with 316 full time and 150 seasonal workers.


Production will now take place in Sweden, Belgium, Poland and Slovakia.

York used to rival Brum as a centre for chocolate, with Rowntrees and Terry's. A sad day

I heard they needed a new purpose built factory with doors wide enough to get Dawn French's fat arse through!
