Definitely - if I have custard (which I don't very often) it has to be warm.

Yuk. Does anyone like chocolate custard? I'm sure they used to do mint
custard at school, or perhaps I'm confusing that with the mint and
chocolate sponge they used to do.

I remember strawberry custard and the rice pud had a dollop of jam in it and the bread and butter pud had marmalade in it.
