Thanks goldencup. I am really excited about going. I can't even imagine
what it is going to be like. I brought some new suit cases at the
weekend, they are nice and big!

It's also my first time on a plane.

I am looking forward to going on a plane, I am not scared. We can watch
movies on the plane and we get some dinner as well. The flight will be
7hrs and 55 mins. I have a reading book (Mike Gayle His n Hers), a
puzzle book, Time Out New York and a sudoku book.

Sounds great - I love sudoku and Mike Gayle is one of my favourite holiday authors.  He has an unusual style for a man.

I like Mike Gayle as well. Dinner For Two was really touching. I have
made a start on His n Hers but I have forced myself to put it away else
I will read too much of it!

Turning Thirty is quite good too in a lightweight way - ideal for holidays.

Good luck with your trip, let us all know what it's like there. How long are you going for?

Have a great time. I took my daughters to New York
for their birthdays last year. We bought 24 hour
tickets for a city bus tour at lunchtime so we could go
on a couple of  the tours one day and do the others
in the morning of the next day, they're very informative
and I'd say the best way to see New York but best
done over two days. Also, go to the Empire State
Building early as the queues are horrendous by mid
morning. The queues for the boat trip to The Statue
of Liberty were also ridiculously long so we went on
the Staten Island Ferry instead, we still got good
views and photos of it.

Mike Gayle has an excellent style of writing and you get to know and understand the charactors from their point of view.

I will tell you all about it when I get back. You won't be able to stop
me talking about it. I am going for 3 nights but it works out to be 5
days. I am staying in the Comfort Inn and its right opposite Macy's!

The chip on my camera is clean so I can take upto to 300 photos if I want too
