Cadbury’s Centenary
« on: August 18, 2005, 02:33:21 pm »
Whilst in Woolworths last week I spotted a Cadbury's Centenary display
board and got a bit excitied... To mark 100 years of Cadbury they have
brought out an old style tin and a bar of chocolate in an old style
box.

I find this quite disappointing as they could have re launched an old
bar or run a limited edition line. A few years back they brought out
limited edition bars of caramel double chocolate, caramel mint, orange
time out, mint time out, orange crunchie, mint crunchie, exploding
crunchie and champagne crunchie. At the turn of the millenium they
re-launched Aztec bars for a short period. So something different is
possible from Cadbury....

Why don't they bring back some old favourites like real Picnic bars (without nuts) and fondant filled chocolate bars like they had in the 60s?

Chocolate companies, like most companies, will often be 'inspired' by their rivals. If Nestle's relaunch of the Texan is a big success, expect some old Cadbury favourites to return.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

It's very sad to see Nestle launching such a huge variety of new bars,
Masterfoods getting in on the act a bit with Galaxy Promises
('inspired' by Nestle double chocolate no doubt), but Cadbury? Busy
getting a wax work of Sir Elton made  - oh sorry no they have a new bar out now - the standard size version of the big Dairy Milk Turkish!

Come on Cadbury we know you can do so much more.
