I have written to Cadbury's to bring back the Cabana or something similar.  I'll let you know when I get their reply.

I'd like to say I think LouLou is wrong but I can't. I e-mailed Cadbury asking them if Fuse had been discontinued nearly a month ago and still haven't had a reply.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Cadbury's reply:

"Thanks for your e-mail . This product has been discontinued.
Consumer preferences do change from time to time and as a
major manufacturer it is important that Cadbury maintain a
wide range of products that meet consumer demands. There are no
plans to re-introduce this product in the immediate future, but
there is a chance that you may see it again at some time."

So, an admission there that Cabana was a Cadbury's product and just a chink of light hinted at its return.

'Consumer preferences do change from time to time' HA! How would THEY know? They respond to perceived fashions, not preferences. I know dozens of people of my generation who would buy Cadbury's Cabana, Five Centres and Milk Tray Bar and I am sure lots of young people would like them too.

'It is important for Cadbury to maintain a wide range of products' WHAT? Endless variations on the chocolate/biscuit/wafer/caramel theme or dozens of various flavoured crunchy bits in CDM is wide ranging??? Dipped Flake and Twirl represent choice and variety do they??

My reply to their email:

Hello, thanks for your reply.   If you wish to meet consumer demands I would expect you to produce this very once popular and unusual product.  I cannot think of another cherry and coconut based chocolate bar.
While I am a fan of Cadbury's and particularly fond of Flake and the CDM range, I feel the case for bringing back Cabana is overwhelming, having spoken to other chocolate eaters.  What demands from consumers do you meet?

I welcome the comments that we might see Cabana one day, but I wont hold my breath.  Perhaps I am wrong.

Regards AH

Perhaps we should ALL lobby them for its return? What if they just did a trial? Do they read this Forum?

Why don't we have a thread on which the chocolate companies can reply to our ideas/views/criticisms?

I had another reply.  It just said.  'We have passed on your comments to our customer relations dept.'
