I am just so very sad to hear of the death of Gene Pitney. As a small child, and with a teenage brother and sister, Gene was a huge part of my childhood and teenage years. I saw him in concert many, many times and he always gave us a terrific show.  He was in my home town only two weeks ago. I wanted to see him but was so busy I told my daughter - 'I'll see him next time he comes over'. How I wish I had taken to time to see that last concert.

Old but spicey!

I still remember the classic moment on 'This Morning' when he was due to peform his new single. Standing swaying on the Albert dock, waiting for his queue to start miming - blissfully unaware that the track had already started. He took it in very good part, which can't have been easy when it has been shown on every blooper show since!

'Something's Gotten Hold of My Heart' and 'Town Without Pity' are a couple of his biggies.

A legend in a way.
