Eurovision '13
« on: May 19, 2013, 04:19:19 am »
 :)
So come on, admit it... who watched?
 >:(
Didn't we do badly? Bonnie Tyler sounded like an 80 year old chain-smoker and the song she was lumbered with was bland-bland-bland.
 :)
I liked the winner, and think it was the best of the night... but I enjoyed the 'controversial' Finland entry and personally wanted Malta to win it.
 ???
Overall, a waste of 3 and a half hours. Why do I do this each year?
 :-\
Oh, and I still miss Terry.

I watched all the songs but was so uninspired I could not face sitting through the voting. The winner was predictable, I liked Malta too - and there were a couple of other Ok songs but the UK entry was hogwash. You are right, Bonnie Tyler could not hit the low notes. You know, just before the show started, Status Quo performed on the lottery show and I thought - wow! Why aren't THEY representing us in the Eurovision??
Old but spicey!

Poor old Bonnie - she did her best, but it looked like they'd let one of the other contestants grannies have a go for a laugh.

I liked the winner, although I don't think it'll go down as a Eurovision classic. I also liked Belgium (which - I hate to say it - would've done better with a better-looking singer), and the Netherlands song, which I didn't like at all on first hearing, has really grown on me. I think it just sounded wrong at first because it's so non-Eurovision - after seeing women jump out of glitterballs it sounded like music to slash your wrists to.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

As much as I personally didn't enjoy the Irish song, I don't think it deserved to finish where it did. There were some very odd results all round, imo. Think I'm gonna download the Malta song in a min... been playing through my head all weekend.
