I'm considering going in a hot air balloon. Has anyone else had experience of going in one ?

my stepdad did a while back (got it as a birthday present)... we followed the balloon around in a car convoy for an hour waiting for it to land. he said it was absolutely brilliant. they even had champagne mid-flight. so no, i can't say first hand that it's worth doing, but if the old guy is correct you wont regret it.

Yes it's great.  I was proud that I wasn't at all worried about where it would come down.  Oh wait - the one I went in was tethered....

I was fortunate enough to win a hot air balloon ride in 1984 when hardly any 'ordinary' members of the public had been able to do so because of insurance. We took off at 4am and floated over the Glastonbury festival (that's where I won the prize). It was fantastic. However - the landing was very bumpy! I would never do it now as I've become a right old danger freak so I am glad I did it when I was young and fearless!
Old but spicey!

nah, he's a big wuss. now lloyd on the other hand... you don't wanna **ck with him! (and lets not even mention the other one... you know, the younger brother that nobody mentions because he didn't get his fair share when the talent was being handed out.)

No, not getting that. You'll have to try again, Smurfy! Most people look short in hot air balloon baskets!
