Cadbury Fudge wrapper message?
« on: May 06, 2010, 03:11:59 pm »
A colleague from the office kindly bought everyone a finger of fudge today, and nice they were too.

I mentioned the sleeve message that used to be on the underside of the fold on the wrapper, which seems to have been removed.
I can't remember exactly how it went: something about a character flying round the Cadbury factory, firing fudge.  :-[

I never understood the point of the message, and it's not a poor attempt at a double-entendre (even if the message sounded like one).  I think the last time I noticed it was a couple of years ago.

Can anyone remember this message/rhyme?  My colleagues are questioning my sanity on this one.

I think your colleagues are right to question your sanity  ;D

A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat

Now get back and do some work  :o

A troll from my own office!!!!  >:(

If you don't mind this is a serious topic, and it'll bug me all week until I can find the answer.

'Just enough to give your kids a treat' was the ad slogan.  This was like a poorly judged message on the underside of the wrapper.

I can't say I remember.  What year was the message printed on the wrapper?

The message was on the wrapper for quite a few years.  As I said, I can't remember seeing it for a couple of years, but I don't eat fingers of fudge too often (they're always on the bottom shelf, near those cheap crappy sweets for little kids).
The whole wrapper seems to have changed actually, from the picture on the site: http://www.chocolatereview.co.uk/individual.asp?ID=97

Yeah, although the pic on the site is from 1999 so is of the 'cadbury land' style - a quite modern introduction.
Can't say I remember seeing messages on the inside, but was this the recent past or are we talking 70s or 80s or earlier?

Isn't it great to think that low life homophobic scum still haunt the world.  Get a life, mate!
