Album: The Joshua Tree by U2
Review:
So, the phenomena of U2 juggernauts on. And on. And on. And on. And yawn. And yawn. And yawn....
I recently watched a documentary on the making of "The Joshua Tree" , and got my long lost cure for insomnia.
I found this offering dull, pretentious and greatly overblown. "Stadium Rock" at it's worst. The playing, especially of the maestro that goes by the name of "The Edge" (he should of been named "Rent A Riff" instead) is all bluff and no content. In short, it sounds like a fire in a pet shop. I would truly, rather be tied to a chair and forced to listen to the "Rubettes" for a week; even Max Bygraves, rather than listen to this dribbling drivel, and their subsequent offerings. As Mr.Zappa so wryly put it :"We're only in it for the money".
This offering may only be suitable for teens and the easily mislead. Totally uninspiring.
Strictly for the brain dead.
If U2 were playing in my garden tonight, I would tell them to clear off or I'd call the police. And that's a polite version.
