There are a few on here who should be worried if this tax comes to the UK!

Who is your energy supplier?

£650 is IMHO excessive. A 3 month bill £162 approx per month for Gas & Electric! What are you running a top secret grow operation?

You want to make sure that they have not "Estimated" the readings which is normal for energy companys this time of year, people see the bill and forget that often these are computer "Guestimated" on previous years use.

I would also ensure that your getting the discounts that your entitled for being a dual fuel bill.

What I suggest is that you get your ass down to the nearest CAB who will either act on your behalf or put you in touch with a local solicitor / debt counciling service to help you come to an easy and affordable payment arrangement and at the same time you want to question the tariff that your being charged.

If this tariff is set too high, then you may get a large chunk off your bill.

OK, if you have a £225 bill, say your supply is "Average" at 10.97p

based on the figures you have posted, electric any way, according to them, you have been using the equiv of about 930 watts per hour / every hour for 3 months.

http://www.ukpower.co.uk/running-costs-elec2.asp
See picture.

I fudged the figures to obtain a value at the bottom as close to your bill but as you can see, your consumption would need to be just under 1 kilowatt per hour 24/7 for 3 months to get a bill like that. 2184 Kilowatts =  watts per hour * 24hours * 7days * 13weeks

Question, how is your mains power serviced in the building, meaning is your property a part of a terrace, joined / semi detached, etc?

Not wanting to scare you but someone could be stealing lekkie from you. Given the current financial crisis, wouldnt surprise me.

Stay sharp people, recessions are a time when you find out who your "REAL" friends are.
