If your library book is overdue then you are a bloody slow reader cos you get them for weeks.

Some of us read books without pictures in them, however.

You can also get a text or email to tell you when your library books/DVDs/CDs are due back - this is losing our Councils a fortune in overdue charges!

Yes, but the point of overdue charges is to encourage people to bring their books back on time, not to make the council money. Isn't it? ;)

Well yes of course!  (evil chuckle)

So hands up who's going to register to get a text from Sainsbury's to remind you to bring your shopping bags.  I'm intrigued how they know when you intend to go shopping cos I don't.

That service sounds about as useful as a glass hammer.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

The DVLA will be sending reminders to licence holders around two months before their 10-year anniversary yet, just in case one doesn't reach you, check the date in section 4b on the front of your licence (inc. provisionals) yourself now.

OH NO! It's too late! They will tell us about it and we will then know when to renew! Quick! We must tell everyone before it's too late!

Just saw this on Martin's money forum.
Ho hum. Panic over.
I for one will certainly sleep better at night now.

Ah but you'd be amazed how many people are risking a £1000 fine by having the wrong address on their driving licences - I see them all the time when they're produced as ID.  Perhaps they should send out yearly reminders to people that they should change their address if they've moved house....

Thankfully, I have not use at all for a driving licence. I have, however, recently renewed my passport and getting a photograph that satisfied them was nearly impossible. You can't smile, you can't blink, you can't turn your head slightly, you have to have you eyes and top of head in line with some imaginary line, whether your anatomy allows for that or not and they dithered over whether my eyes were too far apart. For God's sake, I'm weird-looking enough for NO ONE to be able to pass themselves off as me!
Old but spicey!
