Hi guys,
Does anyone remember the Prize bar made by Macintosh ( I think ).It seemed to disappear around 30 years ago, and if my memory serves me right, it was like the nougar section of a mars bar with raisins through it and covered in chocolate. I still remember it as the best bar I ever tasted........or are my rose tinted specs and memory playing tricks on me?Smile

Hm, I remember the name but not the description you gave.  Mackintoshes did make very nice chocolate bars. Caramac was one of theirs and they were gorgeous but sadly no more - Nestle got hold of them.

From TV Cream:

Prize - Rowntree-derived chocolate/raisin/fudge bar which flourished aroung the turn of the '80s. TV ads featured a stereotypical cartoon boffin.

Does this help?

The Prize bar was made at the old MACKINTOSH factory here in NORWICH , taken over by the infamous swiss giant and closed soon after. we also made CARAMAC there and GOLDEN CUP and ROLOS, when i first started working there i was involved with production of WEEKEND and REWARD all now sadly a memory just like the factory demolished 4 years ago....now a shopping centre.

They were wonderful products Wickobi. Several of us fondly remember Weekend and get quite a lot of enquiries about them. I didn't realise they were made in Norwich. Hope you managed to get another job.
