Actor Ronald Magill, who played Amos Brearly in TV soap Emmerdale over three decades, has died at the age of 87.

Those were the days when Mr Wilkes and Amos ran the Woolpack and fought for the attention of Annie Sugden.

I was very sad about this. The scene when Amos and Mr Wilks said goodbye before he moved to Spain was one of the most touching in soap ever.

They should ask Sheila Mercier to come back for one last storyline. I miss 'Ma'.

Didn't Victoria recently go to visit Annie? Where is she supposed to be living?

She retired to Spain - which is always useful when one of the Sugden actors needs time off!

A good storyline could be for the Sugdens to go to Spain to see ma and stay there.
