The Berkshire-born creator of Paddington Bear has been given an honorary degree by Reading university.

Michael Bond OBE, who wrote his first story about the marmalade-eating bear in 1958, was made an Honorary Doctor of Letters. Clap

I don't believe in honorary degrees. You should only get a degree if you've worked for it.
