The Australian version of the TV programme Big Brother has come under criticism for deciding not to tell a contestant that her father had died. She has been in the house a monthand does not know that her father Raymond died of cancer last week.
Apparently her brother has issued a statement for the BB website saying it was discussed before she entered the house and decided there would be nothing to gain from telling her.

It is also true that regret can set in.

I think that's terrible. It's real life that matters.

That's disgusting - for God's sake get the poor girl out of there!

This is yet another tacky chapter in the shameful story of the worst TV show to ever hit our screens.

The whole thing beggars belief.  This story is totally disgusting and yet again I find myself agreeing with Smurfy.  Big Brother in this country should be axed.  Incidentally, I'm currently seeing someone who is a dead ringer for Shilpa Shetty.  She is very sweet. In EVERY way ;)

If they axed all these reality shows  (except for wife swap because that's too funny) then we might get some decent tv.

But if they don't tell her and let her out not only will she have missed her chance to say goodbye to her father, she will also have missed his funeral.
How will she ever forgive herself for that in the years to follow?

Surely for such a tragedy a bit of leniency is called for. They could let her out for the funeral and then let her back in again afterwards. I think it would take a hard hearted person to object to that under the circumstances!

Loulou.

I LOVE Wife Swap. It is by far the best and funniest of the reality shows. Some of the ways people live are real eye-openers. Rabbits roaming free upstairs pooing in the beds, kids being not only allowed but actively encouraged to write and draw all over the walls inside the house, parents who work all the time and leave all the housework to their kids, and hardly even see them except to say goodnight at bedtime, mums who do nothing but clean and iron, and tidy things away as soon as they're got out.

And they always seem to manage to pair up almost complete opposites just to make it even more fun. Then right at the end put all the participants in one room together and record what happens... Some of them even come to blows. LOL

What's not to love?LOL

I've gone off Wife Swap. I loved it when it started, but now it's the same every week.

Oh how sad.

I think I would be very cross with my family if they kept me away from my dad's funeral.

I feel so sorry for her.
