[M&M's has launched the first fruit-flavored chocolate candies in its 66-year history using one of the world's most popular fruits.
The M&M's Razzberry Chocolate Candies will be available in stores for a six-week limited period and offer the "great-tasting, colourful chocolate fun" of traditional M&M's with the sweet flavour of raspberries.
Owned by Mars US, the M&M's brand has also relaunched its Dark Chocolate Peanut Candies on a permanent basis, following demand from consumers after the product was given a limited edition launch in April 2005.
Anibal Martini, M&M's global marketing director, said: "At M&M's, we are committed to constant innovation to create fun, great-tasting products that deliver unique experiences to our consumers."
The global market for dark chocolate is growing rapidly as consumers become more interested in its potential benefits and lower fat content.
M&M's research found that raspberry is one of the most popular fruit flavours with consumers and the new M&M's Razzberry Chocolate Candies packaging declares that "This is Berry Cool".]
