Have anyone seen these? "This is not just food...this is M&S food" They are so over-the-top it's hilarious. The woman speaking is practically having an orgasm.

And then there's the new Haagen Daz advert, which has a similar theme.

I have been laughing my socks off about these and my son and I even came up with a spoof M&S advert:

Butter, roasted with a butter centre and rich butter sauce;

Butter, coated in butter crumbs and deep fried in best butter;

Butter sponge, with a liquid butter centre and double butter sauce.

This isn't just food, it's heartattack-inducing, butter, butter. butter

It reminds me of the spam sketch in Monty Python.

Old but spicey!

I agree they are ridiculously over-the-top, and Rory Bremner did a great spoof of them called 'S and M - this is not just food; this is pornography'. However, they have worked brilliantly. M and S's food sales have soared since the ads were introduced. Loads of copycat ads have sprung up; the Haagen Dazs ones Kev mentioned, plus the current Aldi and Morrisons ads.

The woman speaking is none other than Dervla Kirwan.

That's her. I hadn't realised, but when Robbie said it it suddenly seemed obvious.

She was also the original Phoebe in Goodnight Sweetheart.

Did you see when she was in Father Ted, she was in Ted's dream sequence when he was dreaming of being the priest in Ballykissangel?

Ah, now I know where I've heard the name.  She was much better than the one who replaced her.
