This shouldn't be in this section. Some people might get pedantic about it.

I think it was actually 1991 when Nestle bought Rowntree. KitKat was made by Rowntree. Before that the most famous Nestle products were Dairy Crunch (now just Crunch) and Milkybar.
Who needs karma when you know you're great already?

Correct. KitKat is actually a very old product and dates back to at least the 1930s. it was at first called Chocolate Crisp (or Krisp) but was re-named to give it a more upmarket image (named after the fashionable Kit Kat Club).

Nestle also made quite accetable milk and plain chocolate in the old days and their Dairy Crunch and Milky bar products were once delicious but are now pale shadows of their former selves.

Old but spicey!

I am just old enough to remember the wonderful products that Rowntrees made (like Goldencup, Toffee Crisp, Mint Cracknell, Aero) and Nestle ruined.

I used to adore creamy caramel Caramac bars but now they're terrible. It's every old woman's right to moan if she wants to.

Old but spicey!

Did your memory start to go when you were 20?
