How does your home look in comparison to when you bought it/moved in? Have you knocked down walls, extended, completely redecorated - or is it the same as it looked when you got it, but with your stuff instead of someone else's?

In my first house I redecorated and recarpeted top to bottom, repainted the front door and gate and replaced all the curtains. If I'd stayed there longer I would have redone the patio. My apartment now was only six months old when I moved in, so there was nothing that needed doing - but in the end I had to put some of my own stamp on, so I now have two red walls in the lounge. Although I love it I do quite like the idea of having a place I could completely make over.

I removed the kitchen door to put an exercise bar in the frame.

Once I move though, I'm going to be going for red walls and a black ceiling with glow-in-the-dark stars on.

Been here 5 and a bit years. New kitchen, new bathroom (nearly finished), new lounge, new dining room, created downstairs loo and utility room, new main bedroom and second bedroom now in progress (carpet on its way, walls and ceiling painted so far), third bedroom will be next but the garden is still a bit of a state .

My garage is shortly to be a room in my house.

Other than that, as bought, new.

New bathroom, new kitchen, all new interior doors and skirting boards (bet that's not the proper name), all ceilings and walls plastered, new staircase, rewired, loft conversion, new central heating system. You have to take into account I bought an empty shell that really needed condemning.

Sounds great Lou. We have added a side annex containing a study and shower-room (study can double up as bedroom) and we have added a sun lounge at the back but a lot of it is half finished. Started to landscape the garden and lay a new pation a few years ago but various family illnesses and other problems have held that up. We had a new kitchen fitted two years ago.

Mine calls it that too but skirting board is fine by me. We had a new kitchen and decorated throughout but otherwise it's much as it was. There are loads of things we'd like to do if we could afford it but I like my holidays too much.
