Bourneville ice-creams

These are on special offer at Somerfield (£1.29 I think for a box of 4) so I bought some. The chocolate is nice but the ice-cream is gritty. Has anyone else noticed this, or did I get a bad batch? I have quite a sore throat at the moment and rather than soothing these just made me cough

I like the Waitrose dark chocolate ones with stem ginger.  Mmm.
