Dentists

my dentist has gone private, 3 weeks before im due to have a crown done, its now going to cost me £300   there is only 1 dentist taking on new nhs patients in the area and they are quoting at least a 6 month wait just  to get on their list, i have had to justify staying with mine by reasoning that at least i know him and he is a really good dentist where as changing would mean trusting someone new ( i really hate dentists lol) to do the work and they will  still charge £150,  better the devil you know time

The sad thing is I don't think the dentists' price hike is going to make people look after their teeth any better than they did before.

Sounds like I was very lucky to find someone! I was charged £42 for an extraction, filling and cleaning yesterday - certainly enough, but obviously a lot less than I'd have paid privately.

That happened to me too lorri. Last year my crown came out and when i went to have it put back my dentist told me he had gone private. I stuck with him as he is really nice and puts me at ease.

it took me years to find one i felt at ease with and trusted lou, which is why i would prefer to stay with him and pay the extra rather than have to start trying to find a new one, which was pretty near impossible here before these changes

well another densit in my town has just goen private so there another 2000 out on ther ear!

densit say "we don't want to comperims on quilty2 wel as thes 200 can't afford the Private treamet in the first place he'l be out of a job very soon, and he'l get what he coming to him soon enough!

As I have said on here before I love my dentist and when he says 'open wide' I always have to concentrate on keeping my legs shut and opening my mouth.

You must be the only girl who comes out crying when he tells you that you don't need a filling today!

"Easy," she replied, "you keep washing your hands."

After they are done, the girl says, "You must be a really good dentist."

The guy, now with a boosted ego says, "Well yes, I'm a good dentist. How did you figure that out?"

"I didn't feel a thing!"
