once again were her:
this tiem it Dasiy DUCK!!
I thought that they were a dating coupleDonald and Daisy are boyfriend and girlfriend. Period. Anyone who tells you something different is either mistaken or sick and twisted.
According to Don Rosa Donald's sister Della married Daisy's brother (unnamed). Hence Donald and Daisy are uncle and aunt to the nephews but are not blood relations. wasn't Huey/Dewey/Louie's mom DUMBELLA Duck???
Well, yes...
In the short Donald's Nephews (released April 1938) - written by Carl Barks and Jack Hannah - the postcard telling Donald to expect the "angellic" Huey, Dewey and Louie is signed "sister Dumbella".
But Carl Barks was also writing and drawing the newspaper comic strip, and in the version of the story that appeared in print in October 1937 Donald received the news in a letter signed "your cousin Della".
This is probably closer to the version they were storyboarding at the time - but the final screen version uses a postcard to show a picture of the "little angels" and set up the gag, and 'cousin Della' has become 'sister Dumbella'.
Question is - which is "correct"?
Barks further compounded the problem by creating a Duck Family Tree in the early 50s that named Donald's (only) sister as Thelma!
In an attempt to pull all this together for Duckberg (Barks' comic-book version of Donald's world) Barks' successor Don Rosa says that Donald's (twin) sister and mother of Huey, Dewey and Louie is Della Thelma Duck, affectionately known by the nickname 'Dumbella' - bestowed on her by Donald in their childhood.
