i pop on every now and again to see who's lying abvout their circumstances. i still live around many of the people i went to school with, and seeing them proclaim their 'business managers' or whatever after seeing them bleeping can of beans down my local Aldi is just great.

It's the nicknames thing that gets me. There's a feature where you can add your schooldays nickname to your profile, and at least ten of my former classmates have invented nicknames I know very well they were never known by!

lol - absolutely! theyve completely ignored the REAL nicknames we gave em (fuucknuts, mongboy etc.) and created new ones (superdude, hotbitch etc.) oh, people. reassures me it was a good idea to lose contact with them.

I visit the site about once a month and take a look around. I have never met up with anyone through it as most of the people I would like to see haven't signed up to it.

I go on it every few weeks or so and yes, I've met up with a few people again through it, some more successfully than others.  I like doing the 'Name Search' bit best as you can find all sorts of people even if you don't know where they went to school.  The most ironic career I have found is a schoolmate who was always in trouble (truanting, shoplifting, too much make-up, you name it!) who is now the head teacher of a very posh girls private school.

Well as some of you already know I have recently had the most boring night of my life and i owe it all to Friendsreunited. Why do people who weren't even a true friend at school feel the need to contact me after 24 years and assume i'd love to meet them and hear them spout sh*t.

Someone I went to school with and hadn't seen for 24 years contacted me and we went for a meal. She made up a big glossy story about her life with her gorgeous daughter, how she was with a wonderful man and ran a successful business and had the most wonderful exotic holidays abroad. A bottle and a half of wine later she tells me she has been to Florida (exotic?)7 times doesn't know who the father of her daughter is, boyfriend is a lazy ex mechanic and the successful business is a tea/coffee/hotdog/burger kiosk in an indoor market.
