A question of priority
« on: December 08, 2005, 07:55:34 am »

The 5 o'clock news on Radio five live, which I think is one of the biggest bulletins of the day.

The first story.  A live press statement from some Russian guy about Harry Redknapp moving back to Portsmouth.

The second story.  A statement by a leading Muslim cleric calling for the release of British hostage et al who might well be murdered (butchered) in two days.

Sorry, if I'm being old fashioned but that stinks!

Isn't radio 5 live a sports channel mainly?

News and sport combined. I suppose as it was a live press conference they had to go to it as soon as it was announced. Maybe the cleric story had come out earlier? Radio bulletins often lead with the most recent story.
