He is in a lot of pain with terrible bruises and cuts all down his legs and a massively swollen and disfigured knee. There is ligament damage to the knee. He is still on crutches but can get in the shower with help. He can get down stairs on his bum without help now so I can leave him in bed in the mornings instead of getting him up and dressed before I go to work. he doesn't need a bedpan anymore but is still pretty helpless and a lot of hard work.

Bless him.

I'm full of sympathy and admiration - it must be really difficult to cope with that, especially with the pressure you've been under at work.

No, it's not too bad. It was worse when he had a heart by-pass two years ago. The work pressure seems to fade into the background as well. I'm just doing what I can and leaving what I can't do. I feel much calmer because I know it could have been much worse.

The insurance claim may take over 9 months to settle so we've been told.
